The console table with no joins. The weave runs across the top and straight down both sides in one unbroken sweep, so it reads as a single sculpted shape rather than a table with legs. It’s wrapped entirely in tight basketweave rattan, in warm honey and caramel tones.
That unbroken shape is what makes it work as a hall table. There are no legs to catch your shin and no corners that jut out. It’s a calm, solid shape in a narrow hallway, with enough texture to stop it looking plain.
At 127 cm long and 40 cm deep, it fits along a hallway wall, behind a sofa, under a window or at the foot of a bed. At 67 cm high it sits lower than most console tables, so it won’t loom over a low sofa or crowd a small landing. The open space underneath takes a pair of baskets or a row of boots.
A woven top is textured, so a tray is the best landing spot for keys, glasses and anything that likes a flat surface. Lamps, vases and a bowl of fruit sit on it happily.
Very good vintage condition, with no damage anywhere.
