One chair, and the corner is done. The tall fan back rises above the seat like a halo, with open diamond lattice and a band of tighter weave across the middle. A black-and-natural twisted trim runs round the edge of the fan and the arms. It’s the one chair in a room that people walk over to look at.
Look underneath, too. The hourglass base is woven as carefully as the front, with black-banded rings and a spiral of cane under the seat. It’s a piece worth seeing from every side, so it looks good in the middle of a room as well as against a wall.
The open lattice lets light through, so the tall back doesn’t block a window or make a small room feel crowded. This is a proper adult-size chair at 74 cm wide, with a 40 cm seat height. It’s a chair to actually sit in, not just look at.
A woven seat is firm rather than plush. A flat cushion or a sheepskin turns it into a reading chair, and either looks good against the honey tones. Add a trailing plant beside it and the corner looks planned.
Great condition. It feels sturdy to sit on and the cane is undamaged.
