Two arches either side of the bed, and the room looks finished. Each table has a half-circle bamboo frame behind the top, with three looped petals inside it like a rising sun. It makes a bedside table look like part of the bed rather than something you put next to it.
You get three levels of storage on a small footprint. The woven top takes the lamp, the water glass and your phone. The drawer takes the things you want close but out of sight, like chargers, hand cream, earplugs and reading glasses. The lower shelf takes the stack of books you keep meaning to finish, or a basket for slippers and spare blankets.
At 42 cm wide and 31 cm deep they’re slim, so they fit the narrow gap between bed and wall where a standard bedside cabinet won’t. The woven top and open shelf stop them looking heavy in a small room. Check your lamp base against the 31 cm depth first, as a wide one will be tight.
Great vintage condition. The drawers slide smoothly and the insides are clean. The tops and shelves are woven cane in a warm honey tone, and they pair with white bedding, dark wood or a patterned headboard.
