Full details on our Delivery page

Four of one of the most famous chairs ever designed. Norman Cherner created this shape in 1958 — the same year as the Eames Lounge Chair — and it appeared on the cover of the Saturday Evening Post painted by Norman Rockwell. It's been in museum collections ever since. Now it can be around your dining table.

That silhouette is what stops people. The way the backrest fans out like a wing, the impossibly thin plywood waist, the legs that sweep outward like they're mid-stride. Every angle looks different. Every angle looks good. It's a chair that makes you wonder how it's even standing up, until you sit in it and realise it's stronger than it has any right to be.

Moulded plywood in a warm blonde finish — light, stackable, and surprisingly comfortable for something with no upholstery. The seat curves to your shape and the back has just enough flex to give when you lean.

Maker's mark on each chair. These are from the Cherner Chair Company, founded by Norman's sons in 1999 to put his designs back into production exactly as he originally intended.

A single new Cherner side chair retails for over £1,000. You're looking at four.
